These Air Fryer Frozen Chicken Wings are the perfect last minute dinner that you can make without planning ahead of time.
Most of the time, if I do not plan ahead for dinner on the Keto Diet, we end up eating a low carb protein bar or Keto Ice Cream.
The first thing that I made in my air fryer was chicken wings. They came out delicious and amazing and sold me on using my air fryer as much as possible! I brought them to a party and was endlessly compliment for my chicken wing expertise. WOOO HOOO!
Normally, I would defrost the chicken wings in advance of making them in the air fryer. One day, I was in a rush and had forgotten to pull something from the freezer.

Air Fryer Frozen Chicken Wings
To make frozen chicken wings in the air fryer, you will only require the air fryer, thongs, and a towel or paper towel to wipe out the bottom of the air fryer through the cooking process.
In order to get crispy chicken wings, from frozen wings, you must remove any liquid that will surely drip off the wings as they cook.
In this recipe, I used the Ninja Foodi Air Crisper Setting. For this air fryer, you need to preheat it before cooking. Not all air fryers require preheating so I did not include it in the instructions.
For this recipe, I used my favorite wings from Whole Foods. I get them delivered for free through my Prime Subscription. Learn more about Amazon Prime Benefits here.

Favorite Chicken Wing Dry Rubs
These chicken wings really do not need a ton of flavor as the crispiness speaks for themself. However, I do like to spice them up to keep my dinners interesting.

Tips on Making Frozen Chicken Wings in Air Fryer
Start by adding the frozen chicken wing into the air fryer. If you can break them up and spread them out, then do so. It is not necessary if they are stuck together in a frozen block as mine were in this case.
The goal is to get the chicken wings spread out in a single layer so that they are not layered on top of each other.
Set the air fryer to 400 degrees F for 30 minutes.
After 5 minutes of air frying, use tongs to break apart the wings and flip them over.
Use a kitchen towel or paper towel with an oven mitt on to wipe out the bottom of the air fryer under the air fryer basket.
Set the chicken wings in the air fryer to cook for another 10 minutes.
Then, flip the wings over again and wipe out the bottom of the air fryer under the air fryer basket again.
At the 20 minute mark, remove and toss the wings in seasoning or sauce before returning them to the air basket. Check to see if any wetness is in the bottom of the air fryer and wipe it out if there is.
Cook the wings for 5 to 10 minutes more depending on your preference of crispiness. For extra crispy, allow the wings to cook for the full 10 minutes.
How to Reheat Chicken Wings in the Air Fryer?
To reheat the chicken wings, set the air fryer to 400 degrees F for 5 to 7 minutes.
